in which, we made some decisions

Many things have changed during the development of our game, but one theme has remained constant: The Time Management Challenge.

The game is still about ghosts and things, so we’re still trying our best to have something playable for everyone soon… and certainly ahead of any spooky season.

To support that goal, we’ve decided to make a couple decisions!

game updates

two player co-op

Multiplayer has always been an idea we wanted to support for the game.

Originally, we started with 4-player as a target for purely arbitrary reasons. After playing the game and working through developing it, it seems better off with fewer players on the board.

This doesn’t change too much for the game, but we hope it’ll make the game a little more accessible and easier to develop.

enhanced missions, and a tutorial

The game has a sort of narrative element guiding the players further along with the game. It also includes an in-game, playable tutorial for the main mechanics. We thought this would be helpful.

the multiplayer lobby dilemma

Our ideas for the lobby have ranged from no lobby at all, to what is now a more specialized screen for both players to lock in their choices before the game begins.

art, ui, etc

With the core mechanics more or less wrapping up, we’re going over the roughest parts of the game and cleaning it up to hopefully, ultimately, be more useable for players. Nothing too fancy, but long overdue updates.

miscellania

I think Miscellania is a location in runescape…

games to play with your friends

If you have 2 other friends, exactly 2 other friends, ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN (yes, that’s how they’ve chosed to stylize it.) is a lot of fun. Even if you suck at it, as it’s maybe even more fun if you don’t take it too seriously and just have fun.

and games to play without them

Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 really that good? We haven’t played it yet…

Even though it isn’t a new release, Spiritfarer is a cozy resource management game that might make you shed a tear.

and see you for the next one

Who knows, we might even put together a short demo reel of the game one of these times.
